An update...

and another today....

Hi John

For the filtering on the HC app and Local monitor we have replicated this issue and passed the information to our HQ team.

However, the missing timeline, we weren't able to replicate in-house. However, we have passed this back to our HQ team to test also.

Many Thanks
Hear any updates from them?

NVR 5.0 ... Has anyone tried using a "Device Group" ...

I created a new group "Active" and moved all my cameras into that group (when you move a camera to a group you create, it is removed from the "Default" group, so any particular camera can only be in one group).

Problem (bug?) is, after a reboot of the NVR, random cameras move back to the "Default" group.

Has anyone else seen this?

I think this is the version is was mentioned to fix the access control devices, so will be interested to see if that’s the case!
Unfortunately it hasn't, but the next version should (V5.04.050)....
Update here:

I tried updating my DS-7608NI-M2 from 5.03.020 by selecting the update file but I get an "update error". Did anyone came across this one?

Keep in mind that if you do manage to update you will lose functionality as described at the start of the thread. The issues described have been replicated by Hikvision so it's not just a case that they affect some users. Downgrading will de activate the NVR and will need to be setup virtually from scratch.

If you get update error:

- Ensure the file is extracted and you are browsing to 'digicap.dav' and not the compressed file
- Make sure you have the correct file as 'update error' will occur if you've selected the wrong platform (IE the one for the NXI version)
- Clear your web browser history and try again
- Try another browser

Thanks, I will refrain from updating. I would expect Hikvision to pull back the update given the findings until they resolved this.

Yes they're slow to resolve it. I reported the issues to UK support on Nov 22nd; UK Support confirmed the issues and said they'd pass to HQ on Nov 29th. We'll have to see whether version 5.04.050 that Kyle mentioned two days ago will resolve it; that is slated for release 'after Christmas'

Hopefully soon after Christmas. Since it looks like the NXI version just got an update which I didn't see posted a few days ago.

Well if you're brave enough @johnfitzy there's a version of 5.04.050_241119 designated as 'ARC' firmware here on the EU portal:

5.04.050_241119
Is there a new thread on this FW? I see that it was released before Christmas and not after. The FW version number is the same that Kyle mentioned that should be released after Christmas. Is this the one Kyle was talking about or is it different because it's designated as ARC? What does ARC mean?

ARC in the UK is Alarm Receiving Centre (where a system is monitored by a control room). Unknown as to whether it'll be the same version. It's dated after the issues I reported to support but a little to soon to include fixes I'd have thought. It's not worth me trying it because I can't be bothered continually having to reprogram an initialised NVR if it doesn't work #tiresome

Cool. Thanks for that info!

I figured you would!

You figured wrong! My OCD got the best of me...

That ARC is the only difference I could find... although I didn't look too closely... mouse scroll direction on playback still reversed and still no timeline markers on playback far as I could tell... no harm done:
