Improving Annke zoom camera night vision performance?

After a few break ins recently I put a camera right on the edge of the property facing the pavement to catch people's faces. I'm using an annke system which I believe is basically hikvision. The colourvu or nightchroma as they call it was amazing but the 2.8mm lens is too wide. I've now changed it to another annke camera which I believe is another hikvision DS-2DE4A425IWG-E. The quality is good but it's not as good as the other camera at night. What is the best way to improve night vision. A flood light or an IR light?

Can you please provide the model number for the Annke PTZ?

The housing and design of the Annke camera might look similar to the Hikvision model, but often the specs/hardware is different and this might be playing a factor in the poor night performance.
