Hi, for some reason my indoor station always crashes when i upload the digicap file with ivms, so hikvision proposed to send the recovery image with an rs232 method...
I already received instructions/tools/recovery file from then, the only part i'm missing is the rs232 cable, especially this small connector below, thats fits into my indoor staion at the back

Does anyone know where i can get it ? Maybe a link would be wonderfull, thnx!!

I am waiting for my little connectors to arrive, should be this week. I already have the other kit from my rs232 toolkit.

And where did you get the toolkit from?
Information sources use-ip ipcamtalk, I don't know if any of this works yet, when I get the cables I'll try connecting to my NVR and a spare old camera.

Here is the Amazon link to the RS232 TTL adapter and JST ZH connectors. I suspect that other types of connectors may be used with various hikvision devices.

I've been using different serial protocols since the early 90's and have de-bricked other devices via rs232 and tftp. I just wanted to learn more about re-loading firmware for Hikvision devices.

ok, lets try and buy that one :-)

do you know what colors i need to use?

There's a chance you could permanently damage your device.....

RS232 TTL serial adapter
Green Tx
White Rx
Black Gnd
Red 5Vdc

Yes mine works, my columns / rows below are in a different order.

NVR JST ZHUSB Serial TTL adaptor
Red GroundBlack ground
Black TxWhite Rx
Yellow RxGreen Tx
White 3.3Vdc don’t connectRed 5Vdc don’t connect

Serial port settings (should be default, check)
baud rate= 115,200
stop bits=1
parity=none
flow control=none

thnx for confirming! Those serial port settings i need to recovery an Indoor station (intercom) , i have some tools from hikvision itself for that

thnx!!

Yeah, that link is indeed wrong then, I need indeed rs232

Oh, isn't that the same?
The pulse voltage levels are different see this.

They may work together but I would not chance it, especially if reloading firmware. It is best to use the correct serial interface for your device. As a rule of thumb, if the Tx wire is around +3.3Vdc it should be TTL. +/- 12Vdc RS232.

+/-12Vdc into a TTL (0 to 3Vdc) Rx pin could blow the input.

Ok, I will check output first of that USB rs232 to TTL convertor, if it gives 3vdc , I should be ok?
