Hi, I'm searching for some legacy firmware for a Hik iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHSY with out much luck for a cam on v5.7.80 and i'm trying to get to latest: (v5.8.60..) version. I read on the Hik pages you should ascend in steps to higher firmware and you can't jump up quickly, my version seems fairly close to the current but i'm still new to this.. I had no luck on the Eur or UK Hik site, the legacy page on the US site only had the current version from what i could see.

Can anyone steer me towards where i might find those firmwares or does anyone have the old files knocking around please?

Hi @SeanJ - you can find all of the previous H8 Platform firmware for the iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHSY here.

There have been quite a few large updates between your current version and the latest, so I recommend updating in the steps marked below:

Then, you can update to the latest version, which can be found in the resources section on the camera's product page :)

I've had no luck despite repeatedly trying unfortunately. I tried the suggestion of no1 (V5.8.10_221025) which I can see is the next sequential number available above my existing firmware (V5.7.80 build 230712) but just get the 'The type of upgrade file mismatches' error each time. I did try other versions also but still the same message unfortunately.

I notice the list didn't have my exact current version number listed (V5.7.80 build 230712) but assume it doesn't carry some in between releases possibly?

Hi, yes i do follow the steps in the link above exactly as set out. I've been fine with my other (similar) cam in applying new firmware (though not as far back in date) but after a reset on this slightly older cam (same model) i've been struggling for a couple of months now.

. J'm trying to start the upgrade path upgrading to 5.8.10 over my existing V5.7.80 build 230712 which Kyle kindly pointed out would be the next logical upgrade am that looks correct in principle. I've placed the digicap.dav in my route folder out of it's zip but it still shows the mismatch error.

I've tested the troublesome cam overwriting it's (old) current firmware (not on the legacy list) so i know the process should be possible but i'm at a loss how to approach this now. There are 2 types of my cam in relation to zoom lenses (i own both) . The legacy download page is definitely the one for my cam i think I don't know what to try next really.

Could you please share a screenshot of the camera's 'Basic Information' page, with the serial number blurred out?
Just so I can check I've definitely sent you to the right firmware for that model.
You can blur out the serial number using this browser extension:

It turns out I'm also having problems trying to update the firmware in the other cam as well, it's a bit higher in release number but it's not accepting the next update above it. I get the odd 'check the network' error when it looks the file is starting to upgrade. I am doing this all on my home network, there may be some issue there possibly but hard to imagine. Anyway I will try on another machine and see what occurs.

Are you using a PC wired to your home network, not a wireless connected laptop?

Well it's clear i cannot update my firmware on either cam on any pc i have despite having done this in the past. It seems after resetting each cam a month or so ago that for whatever reason and following the update procedure and file number updates that i just keep getting the message 'the type of upgrade file mismatches' so if that pertains to me using the wrong cams files or something else that may become clear if/when i break through this current impass.

i am using both Ethernet and also wireless on another device, both get similar error messages.

Oh that's a shame, good suggestion though.
The state of play here is despite using an ethernet lead and selecting the unzipped digidav files files from my root directory I still get the mismatch error constantly.Since reseting these 2 cams manually a month or so ago i seem to no longer be able to upgrade their firmware at all unless I can uncover what the heck is going on. Im reasonably tech competent and did upgraded the firmware of the 1st cam when i bought it around a year ago but after acquring a 2nd one and then resetting them both afresh i'm completely at a loss to move them up from their respective factory firmware versions now?!

One last update if anyone reading this might be able to suggest what to try next (that i havn't bored to death already!)

So today I took one of the 2 cams down from it's tree location and etherneted it straight into the back of my router along with my laptop also etherneted into the router so practically the most minimal cable arrangment and distance feasibly possible.

I then attempted to upgrade to the next logical firmware number up from mine with the digidav file on my C drive route and still the same mismatch error comes up. I also tried jumping up to the current up to date firmware (not great practice but works for some) but still the mismatch message error.

I'm out of ideas i guess, has nobody else reading ever got stuck on the factory firmware that is ships with and not beeb able to upgrade it or am i the only one maybe! I have upgraded it once but after a basic button reset both cams refuse to recognise their 'correct' files as far as i can make out.

Anyway always grateful for any input or something else to try. I'm only really left with reseting it over again as a nothing to lose option. The camera is only 13 months old and functions like it should and can retain other information apart from not accepting any firmware updates.

I got it working, TFFT. Stupidly I hadn't checked thoroughly as the legacy page I initially got steered towards (in good faith) was the Netherlands portal and seeing EU on the page i thought I was in the right place but I just realised there was a UK equivelant and i'm now getting the updates at last. I can't believe I didn't check enough. :-)
