So i brought a DS-9632NI-I8 like a month ago, But i have no "smart events tab" in System to turn on.
I can't get face detection to work also on 2DF8223I-AELW.
Yet it says its supported on the Data Sheets.

Am i getting mixed up with Face Detection and Facial Recognition ? What would anyone recommend for a good Face Recording CCTV for front of home? that is supported for my NVR.

Thank you

Hi @Antonyr123

I assume based on your issue that you are accessing the NVR with a direct HDMI monitor.

If that is the case, you will find the Smart Event settings under 'Smart Analysis' (the magnifying glass icon), you should see line crossing, intrusion, and other events under the Perimeter Protection menu.

Face Recognition is where the camera uses a library of faces to notify the user when a blacklisted/unauthorised face enters the camera's FoV, but this is a specialist feature and only cameras labelled as Face Recognition cameras support it (a bit like ANPR cameras - they are also very expensive like ANPR cameras).

Face Detection is basically just a slightly more advanced version of motion detection/intrusion detection in that the event triggers as soon as it detects something that looks like a face entering the scene.

Your camera does appear to support Face Detection and you should find it under the Smart Analysis menu, but you may need to login to the camera directly and go to Configuration > System > System Settings > VCA Resources and switch the camera to Face Capture mode which will disable all other smart event but should allow you to access the face detection/capture settings.

No Mate, Nothing Shows up.
I have a DeepinView Camera coming soon. As well as a acusense.
I have a feeling those may work. Just annoyed i cant get the PTZ to work.

I have this, Weather it is Disabled or Enabled seems to make no difference and the NVR ignore any events or Captures. Im not a professional but i love to learn.
I set up my PTZ via Intrusion, So i get less Fake Auto tracking alerts on bushes and leaves ect. only thing i changed.

In Smart Analysis i see facial Detection it is enabled with Save VCA picture ticked.
In Perimeter protection i only have

Line cross, Intrusion, Region Entrance and Region Exiting

Is this normal ?

When i try to set it up in VCA on the NVR..
I get the Message that this camera don't support Face Detection. So maybe data sheet is wrong.
I'll try it again when my new camera comes. I'd love to try one of the 7 series EPTZ also :D

Just a update in future for anyone with this Camera.

Your Face capture isnt a VCA feature it is a normal Smart Event, So it allows you to use all the Smart events. Unlike most VCA will disable them. You just have to Turn it on and view the pictures In File Manger>Smart Search>Face>All Camera>Search

All the Face photos the camera records are in there. Also shows in the Events (will Only show you small clip of the face event rather then a photo)
