Hello

I have a Hikvision DS-2DE3304W-DE V5.6.0 build 190128 camera and after uploading the latest software, I noticed that the camera creates datadir 0 -4 folders on a network drive (NAS). Recordings only appear in the folder datadir0, then overwrite in the same folder again. Other datadir1,2,3 folders are still empty. On another camera with an older version of the software, this problem does not occur.
I would love to return to the previous version of the software, but the camera does not allow you to upload the older version. Is there any way to eliminate the above error?

Regards

You are the first to report this AFAIK.
Perhaps ask your reseller to raise the issue with Hik Tech Support.

Good Morning Phil

We use different Hikvision Cameras and all except the latest purchase work fine recording to our NAS

The model that will only record into the datadir0 and none of the other datadir1,2,3,4 files

Model: DS-2CD2355FWD-I

Firmware version: V5.5.83 build 190221

Example of a model that works fine

Model: DS-2CD2142FWD-IS

Firmware: V5.5.53 build 180730

Because the model with the recording issues will only record to file datadir0 we get 2 days of footage and then its overwritten despite the schedule being set for continuous 24/7.

Thank you

Dean

Hi Dean,
Thanks for adding this info, I will take it up with Hikvision Tech Support.

Hi

I have the same issue. Maybe as an add on info that other users have the same issue.

I purchased a new DS-2CD2185FWD-I camera and using NAS to store recording.
I´m using Firmware IPC_G1_EN_STD_5.6.0_190507

I have the issue that the camera is only recording to datadir0 and overwriting the file so I have only about 10 hours of recording. datadir1 – 12 is never used but exist!
My NAS has assigned 1000GB to the share. After formatting using CAM WEBGUI datadir0-12 got created but recording is only using datadir0! So it is not using the others and therefore it is not using the space assigned.

Hi @webkeeper , we have made Hikvision aware of this issue.
After a bit of back & forth, I believe that they now understand.
I am waiting to be notified of a resolution, and will post here ASAP.

Hi Phil

As additional Info - I implemeted yesterday 2 new DS-2CD2185FWD-I cameras that came with "older" Firmware V5.5.83 build 190221 and they have the same issue - only using datadir0 for recording. So only About 10 Hours of Video.... :-(

Hi, just received Firmware 5.6.2 from hikvision that should solve the issue. I just installed on 4 cam´s and report here if the issue is solved with this new Firmware.

Hi ,
version 5.6.13 has appeared. It can not be updated because version 5.6.11 must be loaded first.
Where can I download the 5.6.11 version?

The latest R7 firmware is v5.5.83

We have not seen any mention of a v5.6.2 for R7 cameras, where did you see this?

Hi @spirch

As far as we are aware there is little to no difference between the EU & UK portal, we have shared firmware from both portals here on the forum before and we have customers in Europe using firmware they downloaded from the UK portal and vice versa. More often than not the EU portal has the latest firmware before the UK portal.

thanks for the info!

hi, 2 days ago I installed 5.6.11 and then 5.6.13. Unfortunately, it still saves the recordings only in the datadir0 folder.
It's better to stay with the old firmware.
