Hi Dan, you said it’s not recommended to use ColorVu cameras with the DS-7616NI-K2/16P.Hi @julian toon
The ColorVu & AcuSense cameras are supported by the below NVR models:
I-series NVRs (DS-76xxNI-I2/xP / DS-77xxNI-I4/xP / DS-96xxNI-I8 / DS-96xxNI-I16)
AcuSense NVRs (DS-76xxNXI-I2/xP/S / DS-77xxNXI-I4/xP/S)
DeepinMind NVRs (iDS-77xxNXI-I4/16P/16S / iDS-96xxNXI-I8)
We do not recommend using ColorVu/AcuSense cameras with K-series NVRs (DS-76xxNI-K2/xP / DS-77xxNI-K4/xP) or any older NVR models (E-series, SE-Series, etc...).
I've just tested a DS-7608NI-K2/8P with a DS-2CD2387G2-LU(C) ColorVu camera, and on the latest firmware, and there are no compatibility issues.Hi Dan, you said it’s not recommended to use ColorVu cameras with the DS-7616NI-K2/16P.
But the question is will it work with the mentioned NVR?
Thank you
The old K2 works very well with AcuSense as unlike the better I2 its firmware got updated to support AcuSense search in both the local Ui and Hik-Connect. This is dependant on the firmware being updated to a recent version. The latest is 4.74.210_240108 for that model.I've just tested a DS-7608NI-K2/8P with a DS-2CD2387G2-LU(C) ColorVu camera, and on the latest firmware, and there are no compatibility issues.
You're able to use the AcuSense features (human and vehicle detection) on the camera via the NVR now, which was an issue at one point.
Keep in mind it should be difficult to hit those figures even with the cameras fully maxed out on the main stream. Incoming bandwidth uses the total of the main and sub streams. Older Hikvision models, even 2 megapixel ones, could have bit rates set to a max of 16Mbps, however that's no longer the case. The max bit rate for a stream on 4MP models is now limited to 8Mbps while on 8MP models it is 16Mbps. The audio will add to that but it's negligible. The ColorVu and AcuSense cameras require at least 15Mbps each for 4MP models, and 20Mbps each for 8MP models - so make sure you don't connect too many of these to the NVR and exceed the limit.
