Retrospective VCA Searching Not Working on my DS-7616NI-K2 / 16P NVR?

Hi All,

I'm running a DS-7616NI-K2 / 16P

Previously when checking a camera I have been able to go into playback (this is on a browser, for example Chrome, but browser doesn't matter) and I was able to set a camera to single playback mode, click the event type button and select Intrusion Detection and draw a box on the feed. This would then put markers for any intrusion into that area. This was ideal for checking things outside my usual intrusion or line detection.

At some point in the last few months, this has stopped working. I have updated all the cameras to the latest firmware versions and also the NVR. I have confirmed "Enable Dual VCA" is selected both on the back end (the NVR) and on the front end (the cameras). I have tried Chrome, Edge and IE. I have restarted all cameras and the NVR.

But there are still no markers?

Anyone know why the retrospective VCA no longer works? It was an amazingly useful feature.

Solution
OK, I've sorted it. Thanks for the heads up on checking it on the NVR not the web interface.

I was enabling and disabling via the web interface under the section Video>Display Info on Screen then enabling "Enable Dual-VCA"

I found an option on the actual NVR under Record>Advanced
The option was "Save Camera VCA Data" and it was set to disabled. That option doesn't appear in the web interface.
I've enabled it and now everything is working again! yay!
Sw you're on the latest firmware - you need to bring up the menu on your monitor/TV. Then:

1 - On the settings page you will see an option that's marked "Enhanced SVC" and it is enabled. Switch that off and it should fix the issue with the cameras showing "No Resource"

2 - In the Record > Advanced menu you'll see an option for "Save Camera VCA Data" that's disabled. Enable that and you should be sorted.
Thank you JB, but I can't find "Enhance SVC" or "Save Camera VCA Data" anywhere. I must say the upgraded version is much less user-friendly than v3 I had before. I'll upload photos of the relevant maintenance pages tomorrow. Thanks again for your interest!

Both of those settings are found on the local menu - that’s the menu that’s displayed on the monitor or TV that’s connected to your recorder. To bring it up, you click the gear/cog icon at the top right of the TV/monitor screen. I could be wrong, but I’m guessing if you can’t find it you may be looking for it using your computer web browser or app. The settings aren’t available there (at least not directly)

I looked for the info on "Configuration" (cog icon) on the monitor, I'm attaching all relevant screen photos

If you click “expert mode” at the bottom of the first page additional options will become visible on virtually every page.
