New firmware on the global site for DS-KV6113-WPE1(C) - 2.2.78_241012. No release notes as yet.

Hello,

yesterday I upgraded the doorbell from version 2.2.77 to 2.2.78 and since then I don't have the usual "Door is Unlocked" sound prompt when I send the unlock command. Same goes for when i swipe the mifare card.

From the settings I didn't find anything useful.

Changed language from Greek to English, and back again. no change.

The sound it makes when I use the card or send unlock command is the calling sound (like in telephones) and the only setting to modify this is in Video/Audio -> Audio Settings where I can just completely disable the sound or change the duration

Any ideas how to get the sound prompt in my language back?

Check the settings in:

Configuration > Video/Audio > Audio

Check both the Unlock Prompt is turned on and whether you have Short or Prolonged Sound enabled:

If it's already set correctly I'd try disabling Unlock Prompt, saving, re-enabling, saving.

Yep did all that. Also saved and resaved on short and prolonged.
Tested it as well. The calling sound it now makes is either short or longer.
Also rebooted twice.

Maybe a bug then and you'd have to downgrade. I use mine with the lock output set to 'Mechanical Doorbell' so cannot test.

Hi Vaie
I do not have the (C) of DS-KV6113WPE1 but the first version (A)
There is no similar setting for Unlock Prompt in Video/Audio settings but what I can see is that the equivalent SIP Audio Encoding is called Audio Encoding for the (A) version and the only option is G.711ulaw.
Can you try changing this setting by moving this G.711ulaw from third place upwards to first place?
I don't know if this is related with Greek language support and if this setting worked with your previous firmware

I think that audio codec settings were in the release info.

I had the same idea as you did and it didn’t work. Tried other languages as well

You mean this is a new option with firmware 2.2.78 ??

Yes,
Quoting from firmware release info:

New Features
1. Support 8 KHz & 16 KHz audio sampling rate, add EQ algorithm to improve the audio
quality and support more audio format: G.711u, G.711a, Opus, AAC-LD, AAC-LC, G.726,
G.722.1

Yes,
Multiple times with different settings since this morning that I saw there was an issue

I have the same doorbell and also upgraded to such latest version. I also lost the voice prompt. The only actual upgrade is the codecs for SIP. I use SIP and did not notice a real difference, as the "old" codecs also work for me. I think I will downgrade, because voice prompt is quite important for visitors to know that the door is being unlocked. Tone is not as useful.

By the way... release notes doc is here.

Hey everyone,

I just bought this Outdoor Station DS-KV6113-WPE1(C) for my house. I wanted to update from V2.2.77 build 240515 to the latest firmware version. But all the time I try to upload the .dav I get an update failed error. I've tried to perform it via the web browser. I used Linux and Windows10. The IWS-4200 sees the camera but don't suggest any firmware upgrades?

The unit has in the serial number with tag RR which i found out stands for "Rest Region" or "Other" according to other forums. See link here: Serial Number understanding.
I tested via SSH to check if it is not a "rebranded" chines version but the language packages "1" and not "2" or "3" which is chines. Check language aka region
Has someone a better idea. I also have seen it is possible to perform the update via the SD card port ? But I don't want to brick it.

BR

They rarely update successfully with the web browser (at least when I've tried). I usually end up importing the camera into iVMS-4200 then doing it through the remote configuration window there...

However, if you get the region wrong you will brick it. It's really not worth it as the latest version 2.2.78_241012 adds nothing of interest, just some support of additional audio codecs. I seem to remember that for one user on here it broke the audible 'the door is unlocked' prompt and for me it broke the mechanical doorbell function and I had to downgrade it back to 2.2.77.

In summary - leave it on 2.2.77, the update is not worth the potential problems it will cause.

I have also never been able to upgrade from the browser. The iVMS app option is the way to go.

I also advise not to upgrade to the latest 2.2.78. I am one of the ones who had issues with the prompt so I rolled back. Not worth it to upgrade unless you specifically need one of the SIP codecs included in the latest firmware version.

Dear all,

Thanks for the feedback. I did contact the shop from Ebay. They pointed to me a link to Hikvision Europe and the firmware there is 2.2.65. So I will leave it as it is.

From my point of view, the system is running like it should and all works perfect with Frigate, Home assistant, my SIP system and my doorbell ! I also seen in the other forum ipcam talk there is a unwritten rule: Never update if your system is working. And JB1970 pointed out aswell. If working don't touch it.

So I'm happy with the system working as expected, It is adding an additional layer of security and view.

I couldn’t update to the new firmware using IVMS-4200, downloaded Hikvision Batch Configuration Tool and it updated first time.

Downloaded the new firmware V 2.2.78 build 241012 from the Hikvision Portal, extracted it to a .dav file then used the Hikvision Batch Configuration Tool to update.

How does one downgrade the firmware? I can't seem to find a dav file online for the 2.2.77 version.

How did you "roll back" the firmware?
