Intelligent Video Search - Person and Vehicle Search - not working via the App or browser?

I have an issue that is driving me mad. Your help would be appreciated.

I cannot find content when searching using Hikvision's Intelligent Video Search online. It simply returns no data when searching for 'person and vehicle'. It will return all data if I don't apply a content filter,

However, if I am on the NVR (Hikvision DS-9664NI-M8) locally in the Event Center, I have no problem searching content by event type. i.e. target event, human body or vehicle. Which makes me confident the hardware is fit for purpose and correctly configured.

What am I missing? What must you do to get Hik-Connect to surface the same data as the Event Center does when you are on the device locally? I can see the NVR, cameras, live feed and playback via Hik-Connect. The only issue is with searching the data for specific events. Almost like it doesn't have the metadata for the event types.

As a thought, is Hik-Connect's Intelligent Video Search an extra chargeable service? I don't believe it is but I am at a loss as to why it isn't working for me.

Does anyone else have this feature working?

NVR - Model, DS-9664NI-M8, Firmware, V5.03.010 build 24070.
Cameras - Model DS-2CD2387G2-LU, Firmware V5.7.12 build 221201

Android or IOS?
Are you running the latest version of the App?
As can be checked here - App Store

I do have an IOS device, but the issue is the same on Windows with Chrome or Edge.

There's newer firmware available for your NVR and cameras which could well resolve the issue, especially as the firmware that your cameras are running predates the NVR and V5 firmware it uses:

You can download the firmware via the product pages below in the 'resources' section:

NVR - V5.03.020 build 240904

Cameras - V5.7.18 build 240826

Instructions on updating the firmware:

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. I upgraded the firmware a few days back; please see the attached file. Sadly, it made no difference. Also, the search does work locally on the NVR. So the metadata for the events must be there. Suggesting the hardware is working. The issue is with Hik-Connnect surfacing the same results that are on the NVR.

Hmm - are you using version 6.6.440 of Hik-Connect?
I'm guessing you've added it via either QR code or serial number, as opposed to IP address?

The same issue you're seeing in browsers may have a separate cause - make sure you're using the latest version of the browsers.

If you add the NVR to iVMS-4200, do you have the same problem?

Hi,

Thanks again for your suggestions.

I am using Hi-Connect online and my mobile (6.6.420 for IOS). Neither surfaces the data.

The NVR was added using the QR code.

It works as expected when using iVMS. See attached.

I've tried Hik-Connet using Edge, Chrome and Safari. It will surface data but not when filtered Person and Vehicle.

Can you update the iOS app to 6.6.441 please, which was released a few days ago, and see if that gets things working on there?

Thanks again for the thought.

Sadly, the new version makes no difference. It can surface all detections, but not person and vehicle.

The only way I can surface person/vehicle footage is directly on the NRV. Which suggests the NVR and Cameras are good. Via a browser on a PC or Mac, and the iOS version of the App I can surface all data but not person/vehicle.

Sorry, I'm all out of ideas!

Unless someone else here can chip in, I think your best bet is asking whoever supplied you with the NVR to ask Hikvision Support for their input.

You can try reaching out to them directly yourself too, but your supplier will probably get a quicker response:
