Hi everyone,

This post is in connection with Acusense/Motion 2.0 on Hikvision Analog cameras.

My Control Room is monitoring cameras during the night with various iDS-7232HQHI-M2/S set-ups and DS-E08HGHI-B.

Both DVRs running on the latest firmware's.

We have noticed the eDVR reduces the false alarms much better then the "Acusense" DVRs.

I am not sure if this is because the eDVR are running on SSD drives and therefore can process the alarms better.

This is just in connection with motion detection (human) selection.

On the iDS-7232HQHI-M2/S I have reduced all of the motion down to 20% sensitivity with human detection and they still false alarm.

On the eDVRs however they almost never false alarm, or I would say rarely false alarm. I have some very old/low quality cameras connected to some eDVRs and they still work great vs
the Acusense DVRs.

I am thinking of replacing out all of the Acusense DVRs with eDVRs now. I will also email Hikvision staff to see what think about this but posting it here in case someone wants to comment.

UPDATE:

I sent this data to Hikvision and the advised the following:

eDVRs are now End-Of-Life and are not advising to purchase these for some reason, not sure what happened there but anyways.

They told me to use Hikvision's new AI box to help reduce false alarms.

Supposedly this should also work with Hikvision analog cameras as the DVR has an IP connection, If anyone has started to use this AI box for false alarm reduction please comment on the workability of this device. Thanks
