DS-7608NI-I2 not displaying smart events

@Vauxfan
my firmware is V4.61.030 build 240123.

Camera connected to the NVR is a DS-2CD2347G1-LU, firmware V5.6.6 build 210625, set for continuous record, dual VCA box ticked.

playing back at the NVR with smart selected and human / vehicle not selected, I have a continuous blue line with red intrusion events on it. These events are anything that moves in the box. Selecting human or vehicle / human & vehicle the red lines disappear, leaving the continuous blue line.

Does that help?

David
What @Vauxfan should see is similar to you, however when he selects Vehicle/Human, the red markers on the timeline should update/change according to what filters are set in his pre-configured events (as your G1 ColorVu doesn't have AcuSense whereas his G2 [with G5 firmware] does). This statement:

normal smart will pick up me crossing the line intrusion but nothing else.
makes me think that it's working similar to yours as it should in playback. The issue is doing a retrospective VCA/motion search where you define a line on screen during playback. It should (using the dual VCA and save camera VCA) display anything that crossed that line, human, animal or otherwise. It's that search that doesn't work for him.

No mate. Mine does that. What doesn't work any more is the line crossing detection line drawing option on play back. It doesn't show any triggers anymore.

As said, dual VCA needs to be on in the camera along with 'save camera VCA data' on the NVR. It should be plain sailing with your firmware versions.

No. Those two are the same.
You have to go on NVR GUI Configuration-Record-Advanced-Save Camera VCA Data or something similar

or goto

nvr web browser:

Yes the above option was added into firmware without warning and with a default of off, meaning that the search function just stops working until it's enabled. 'Enable Dual VCA' ensures the camera sends the data but unless 'Save Camera VCA Data' is turned on, the NVR just discards it.

Hi JB. You gave me a good idea for testing. By disabling one at a time for v5.7.19 :-) :-)
I did not try that

Thank you. It wasn't ticked in local nvr. I have done it now so will check it tomorrow and see if line works. I have unchecked basic events though but left all smart markers checked.

I do admire your patience! I hope it eventually gets sorted during update because although I don't need it for security, being able to search for events that are otherwise filtered by AcuSense can be handy (if AcuSense has incorrectly filtered a valid target or for animals)

It should be fixed and would be noticeable straight away as you'll see markers appear after the time you made the change when you search.

Sorry. Disabling, all combinations Dual VCA and Save VCA Data, didn't work for me :-) :-)

Yes it has worked. Thank you all and likewise thanks for your patience over the last couple of days.

Hi David

I think that you have an ....NI-I2 NVR. Mine is an .....NXI-K2. I think this option is also missing from NXI-I2 series.
I don't know why this option is missing from advanced storage configuration in web GUI. Everything should be similar and configured from both of them......

But it's OK if if you can set this from NVR GUI. Some things are missing or are different on web GUI and NVR GUI. For example the ANR option, Enable Virtual Host and the Storage Mode quota or group
