but for the event playback, it has the below config and it is not picking up the nas drive, only my laptop hard drive or am i barking down the wrong route

I think that is just for the local event pictures - if you set up events on the software while viewing it as you found in your post #8

added a micro sd card but unfortunately still doesnt show the events in the playback

next option is to download a 3rd party software nvr on the raspberry pi and see if that works

did you get the the bottom of this?

I am having the same issue when trying to view events on a PYRONIX Hikvision NVR.

Same error message is appearing in the events playback view showing that no recordings are available even though they are triggering events in notification panel and also push to app.
