ColorVu Firmware - White Light Smart Event

Hi

I have recently purchased a 4MP ColorVu DS-2CD2347G2-LU and was wanting for the white light to show upon triggering an event.

Searching the internet it stated i need to update my firmware, so i navigated to here https://www.hikvision.com/en/support/download/firmware/ and searched for my camera, downloaded the firmware and installed, no issues, rebooted and went to the smart event but no white light on the linkage tab

After i bit more poking around i found that there are 2 incarnations of the ColorVu (G3 and G5 denoted with a "C") after the model number, seems i have updated my G3 with G5 firmware.

Tried installing G3 latest firmware over the top but it wont take it it due to "The type of upgrade file mismatches", as mine is now showing as a G5 - Why would it let me update a G3 to G5 in the first place?

Anyway..... the camera functions fine although im still not showing the White Light in the smart events though, HELP pls

Is it even available on this camera model? Which model do i need?

To answer my question (one at least), the Firmware that allows the white light to be triggered in the events is this one 5.7.2_211228 future updates, for whatever reason, have the feature removed.

It would also appear my G3 is happy on a G5 firmware

I would doubt you've updated your G3 platform camera with G5 firmware. The likelihood is that you have a G5 camera and thats why you're getting a message when you try and load G3 firmware. The latest G5 firmware (5.7.3) does not have the white light linkage. You may need one of the customised older versions from the portal if you want that featuren(5.5.114 or 5.7.2). You're best off using the portal for firmware - for the G5 it's here:
