Interesting thanks. I found a set of Hik notes detailing issues with an earlier version of IVMS and the 8003 (which doesn't have a Web browser interface so is reliant on IVMS remote config) which made me wonder whether that could be at fault. I'll take a look and see if I can downgrade...

Hi David. No it's not fixed. I cleared cookies and cache as you suggested but no joy. I'm still getting either Device Error or Parameter Error messages when I try to save settings. Most notably the device name resets to the default of Outdoor Station if I reboot.

Thanks again David. Certainly plenty of food for thought there. I've not been able to find logs on the QNAP, and the KD8003 is pretty limited compared to my other Hiks. I will certainly work through the points though - leave it with me for a little while and I will come back to report findings.
