Thanks. I did read it should be okay, and I don’t have the affected NVR’s, but with hikvision I always like to check.
Will update and wait for V4.61.025 to be available from the portal and will go direct from V4.60.005
I’m currently on V4.51.025 build 210927.
Is it safe to update to V4.60.005 build 220108?
Currently have an issue where any/all cameras will freeze after a few minutes when viewed. Easy to rectify just tap the screen again to refresh but will then freeze again. Happens when viewed using...
That sounds familiar, been a few years since I used iVMS.
Took me a few attempts to find the correct tab to access the individual cameras rather than the NVR but all good. The dome took a while to update but confirmed successful on its config page. As there are multiple updates for the IZS I’ve...
Thanks Dan. I’m sure the App Store used to have ivms but it’s been removed? I’m just in the process of downloading it so will follow your instructions once complete.
You’re a God amongst mortals Dan! The DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL cameras are all good but I’m now confronted with a new problem that my DS-2CD2185FWD-I and DS-2CD2686G2-IZS both state “no plug-in detected” so I’m unable to update them.
I’m running os high sierra 10.13.6. Do you have a link for the...
Hi Dan,
Yes directly connected. They function perfectly, including the new light activation via the app, I’m just unable to acces via the web interface for some reason.
I took the plunge yesterday and updated my NVR, DS-7616NI-I2 / 16P, incrementally up to V4.51.025. Along the way I updated my cameras as well, mainly DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL, to 5.5.800 without issue, sort of. The cameras are much quicker to react to inputs via the Hik-Connect app on IOS following...
Hi Smokie, not sure if you still have this issue but if the “upgrade” button is greyed out to the left of it click on the actual greyed out file icon to the left. A pop up box should then appear for you to select a previous download if you have it available? I don’t know if it will automatically...
Hi Quasar, no problem.
There is a BUT coming. You need to be aware that Hikvision have/are apparently dropping the DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL cameras I mentioned. This is only very recently and the info is available in another thread on here. I think admin are trying to clarify exactly what support...
I’d gone up to v4.50.000, they’ve obviously found something to correct. The only issue I’ve had is being unable to view my cameras using Hik Connect via the NVR’s IP address on my network (having also upgraded all of them, mainly DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL to remove the two way audio issue which was...
Chuffin brilliant. Like a lot of other folk I bought their latest cameras that are less than 12 months old and now they’re replacing them AND won’t be providing updates. “If” it’s based on chip shortage, like all affected tech, I can’t see how a newer version would be deemed an upgrade? What...
Hi Lee,
There’s already a good thread on here, try this link.
https://www.use-ip.co.uk/forum/threads/how-do-i-update-hikvision-firmware-in-just-nine-simple-steps-updated-20th-february-2019.1323/
Hi quasar, not sure if you’ve already made your decision on camera but for what it’s worth I can highly recommend the DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL. It’s a fixed 4K anthracite turret with microphone and speaker. I have these, along with others, around my property and picture quality is excellent. They...
Can some guinea pigs let me know how they get on updating please? I don’t want to ruin my current set up as everything is working fine on my DS-7616NI-I2/16P currently using V4.40.015, looks good though.
I don’t think the total length of cabling has an impact, each camera should work fine on anything up to 100m I think?
If you have an intermittent problem with one cable I’d just change it.
Like I said before, try plugging your NVR directly into your router. Try it with one camera making sure...
Also, is your NVR connected directly to your router? If it isn’t, e.g. via power link, connect it directly to see if it makes a difference. If that works you know that your setup is correct and it’s an issue with your network.
Hi Jack. Are your cameras fully installed and fixed in place or are you able to access them easily?
If you can, try connecting a different Cat 5 or Cat 6 lead to see if that makes any difference. On your screen the grey boxes shouldn’t be present if there’s a signal.
It looks as if your cameras...
Hi Jack,
Have you tapped on each image? Even if the hikvision app is showing grey squares with a camera motif it should still provide an image. Might be that simple.
Or, in the settings for each camera on your NVR, if you don’t get a picture, try lowering the resolution for viewing as it might...
It’s crystal clear on mine, can even hear bird song. Are your settings correct? As posted above -
“In order to hear the audio from the camera you must have both the main stream and sub stream type set to Video & Audio (by default they are set to Video only. I had to use the patched version of...
