You may have done this but just for starters have you tried swapping the ports around on the back of the NVR to eliminate the possibility of a port failure?
i.e swap one that’s in a working port with one that’s not working.
Also what cameras have you got? Are they up-to-date on the latest...
Thanks for the reply Dan, yes I see your point. I suppose it’s just the same as the the presets on most modern monitors. I found it particularly useful at night if I wanted to live view and the ambient light was darker than usual, for example heavy cloud cover, really brightened up the picture...
Hopefully someone can recall this and throw some light on it.
When I first got my setup about a year ago, my NVR DS 7608NI K2, the latest firmware was V3, a feature I liked which aided picture quality when viewing in certain scenes / light, if I recall correctly I could right click the live...
Mine was an odd one, everything was as it was but Hik Connect offline. In the end I changed my dns from 8.8.8.8 to my routers IP and bingo, then changed it back to 8.8.8.8 and all was ok still.
Also when I tried pinging the server I got no response , changed it to another server and got a...
I have noticed mine is offline this evening, although I haven’t done an upgrade.
Will check it out in the morning but mine in the past has been the ip address changing, but I’m sure I set it to fixed...
Have you tried the SADP tool to find your device on the network and check the ip?
No worries - Thanks for the reply. I’ve gone with Hik-Connect currently, so not needed to setup DDNS. Do you find the iVMS or Hik-Connect app better?
I’ve had to turn on port forwarding this week as I’m away on holiday also and getting a few false alerts from intrusion detection so tweaking the...
Jumped to V4 today, didn’t lose any settings and no problems as yet. Much slicker and much more modern look.
One thing I thought you could try in reference to your linkage / notify surveillance centre issue that I noticed today was that this is turned off on my NVR settings, but when I log...
Thanks - that’s good to hear! I have the same cameras as in the thread, but to install we’ve done a 20mm hole in the soffit to get the pigtail through, this is obviously drilled though in the middle of the cameras base as such, so all the cable and connection sit inside my new upvc soffits.
Where is the connector out of interest?
Installed mine several weeks ago bit mine goes straight into the soffit (UPVC) so I’m hoping / assuming isn’t going to get any kind of damage from the elements.
Thank you! I was just going to knock off motion detection on normal events - Would that have the same effect?
Might be worth just staying in V3 and waiting for the next firmware release? Any benefits in me jumping to V4?
Thanks a lot - yes it has. I’ve not long had my setup and I’m sat on V3, wondering if I should jump to V4. All makes sense - just not sure about the setting in time alerts to set to zero- but can’t say I have been into it ghat deep.
I need to set my alerts up this weekend as going away next...
Do you mean your NVR at home doesn’t suffer from this on the same firmware?
I’m wanting to make the jump to the V4, but nervous with the bugs.
Can you explain a bit more about the work around - not quite fully understanding what you mean.
