Hi all,

Current Setup:
- Cameras:
- Hikvision DS-2CD3T56G2-ISU/SL (Lens: 2.8 mm) - 2 pieces
- Hikvision DS-2CD3356G2-ISU/SL (Lens: 2.8 mm) - 4 pieces
- NVR:
- Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P - 1 piece

Suddenly all cameras went offline the status shows "Offline(IP camera does not exist)"
-------------------------------------------------------
NVR
Current Version *V4.51.025 build 210927

Please help what can I do I have rebooted several times to enable the disabled POE option in NVR. My cameras are connected directly to the NVR POE port.

Has the POE port gone bad? all property of NVR works like remote login, user management etc but the camera does not show online nor live view is working. Please help

Hi @rajiv.dey.se

I can see your NVR is several firmware versions behind, I would recommend updating your firmware first to see if that resolves the issue (update step-by-step through the versions listed below):

V4.60.000 build211129
V4.61.000 build220507
V4.61.030 Build240123

If the cameras still show as offline after updating the NVR firmware, can you please confirm if the PoE port LEDs on the NVR are lit up?
Can I do this online I have remote access but do not have physical access to the NVR. Or is it risky to do a remote upgrade will the user name and all IP and other settings remain same after upgrade? I am a bit afraid if access too goes away during upgrade. Please note we are accessing the NVR through internet. Also can you help me to understand how we can understand that our NVR are lacking behind firmware. How doI search which is the latest version and how did you find the list. We want to learn hence the question. Thanks

Hi @rajiv.dey.se

Some settings on the NVR can change when updating firmware so we would say it is best to update via browser on the same local network or with a direct monitor.

If you update remotely from outside your local network there is a small risk you could run into problems accessing the NVR after updating.

Ok then lets see if we get someone to the physical nvr who is technical. Also to rule out hardware issue what can we check is it the LAN light? in the POE port because we have someone who is non technical we can quickly ask to check it.

Also can you help us how did you get the upgrade list of firmware we want to learn. Thanks

See the attached picture, if the PoE ports are working/providing power to the cameras you should see at least one of the 2 LEDs for each port lit up.

If the built-in PoE switch on the NVR had failed, one potential sign of that would be to see all of these LEDs off.

If you click on any of those firmware links I shared it will take you to the Hikvision Download Portal where you can access old firmware for lots of different NVR & camera models.

Well if the POE section is broken due to the protection diode being shorted. Can we use an external POE switch if yes which Hikvision or any other brand POE switch will you advise? we solicit your expert knowledge.

Any 8-port PoE switch should do the job, we would recommend something like the Hikvision DS-3E1510P-EI 8-Port Gigabit Smart PoE Switch or the TP-Link TL-SG1008MP 8-Port Gigabit Desktop/Rackmount Switch with 8-Port PoE+

But as I said above, the LEDs not working on the PoE switch is only one sign that 'maybe' the switch has failed and you might want to test one of the cameras on an individual PoE Injector or a non-PoE switch with a separate PSU just to make sure the issue is not with the cameras before investing in a potentially expensive 8-port switch.

The cameras are also older models which could be behind on firmware like the NVR is, this might have also contributed to them dropping off the NVR.

we searched the log and we are seeing PoE Power supply exception. exactly at the same time in NVR log exactly at the same time when all camera stopped working. So can we use this TL-PoE150S (tp link injector PoE Injector) to test if the nvr poe section is faulty is it safe to do so? will it impact the camera? also, will nvr accept the camera data if poe is not working? The injector is single port so we want to try with one camera. we plan to place the injector in between the nvr and camera while data + power endpoint goes to camera and only data end point goes to NVR. will the test work any precaution we need to take? And we intend to keep the poe of the NVR enable else we dont get IP address assigned. and IP address is 192.168.254.2 for first camera. we will leave the camera in plug and play
