Hi,

I am looking to carry out some research at a University in the UK, looking at the impact of public urban spaces on physical activity.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a video camera that can be placed in a public space, which meets the following criteria:
  1. Can record video during set intervals e.g. 10-11am, 12-1pm, 3-4pm, 5-6pm
  2. Has enough battery life to record for a total duration of 8 hours (using the above intervals) over two days.
  3. The quality of video images doesn't matter too much, as long as people's physical activity behaviour could be reliably coded. Can be black & white. Doesn't need audio.
  4. Ideally, it can do the above and stream/record the video images onto a Cloud (rather than storing the data locally on the camera).
  5. Suitable for use in the UK i.e. data processing is GDPR compliant.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Jack

Hi @jackb17

We don't sell any battery-powered IP cameras

We would recommend looking at a brand like Arlo who do a range or battery and wireless IP cameras for outdoor use.

i would say a mobile phone with a battery pack, using something like tasker to automate the scheduling

unless u need a specific FOV...
