Using the mouse function

I consistently lose the mouse functionality on my Hikvision setup.

I'm wondering if anyone else has a similar problem. I have tried replacing the mouse but still get the problem.

Not persistently.
You can connect to front or rear USB sockets.
You normally have to cycle the power to re-find the mouse.

Which NVR model?
Are you running the latest firmware?

My NVR is DS-7604NI-K1/4P(B) and the firmware is v3.4.99 Buld 171121

I've also just spotted your post that the camera firmware should now be 5.5.82 for the G1 series.

Is it safe just to switch the power off and then on again?

I'm afraid you have no other option - there is no shutdown button.
