Hik-Connect Unable to get Push Notifications

Hi

I have tried in vane to configure Push Notifications from my HikVision DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 without success. I have however managed to get email notifications for Intrusion Detection and Line Crossing but I prefer Push Notifications.

I have tried 3 official HikVison Apps (Hik-Connect, iVMS-4500 or ProControl+) without success. I am primarily using a OnePlus 6T and I have configured all necessary setting to allow Notifications (see screenshots below). Initially I had not set up an account on www.hikconnect.com but quickly spotted that and thought I was onto a winner but unfortunately not. I have even tried other Android devices and an iPad & iPhone without success, so there is obviously one crucial step that I have missed.

From the screenshots you can see that:

1) Linkage method is selected
2) Hik-Connect cloud service is "connected"
3) Push notifications are set on the Android device
4) Battery optimisation is not set - as per recommendations but I have tried with too
5) Logs are showing Alarm events

Can anyone suggest what's wrong please?

Hi there,

Could you directly attach the pictures to your post as jpeg files please? I can't see them right now.

In the linkage action settings, have you got "Notify surveillance centre" turned on?

Are you running the latest firmware on the camera? The link to your latest firmware update is here.

Yes, "Notify surveillance centre" is turned on and I've not upgraded the firmware to 5.6.15 but a friend of mine has the same camera running the same firmware and he gets Pushes

Tried to upgrade the firmware but it failed with the message "The type of upgrade file mismatches"

There are two different areas in Hik Connect that need to be enabled to get push notifications. One is "push notifications"

I do not have a Settings screen on the App whereby I can enable Alarm Notifications. When I Googled the problem I found an article relating to Alarms but I do not have it in Hik-Connect. I assumed this was because I am linking direct to an IP camera rather than an NVR
 
Yes you do. There are two different "settings" menus in Hik Connect. You're going to have to play around and find them, but I assure you they are both there.

I just uninstalled the Hik Connect App and re-installed it. I think the issue was that the sign in credentials used the first time were not the same as used for the Hik Connect cloud login, which was created after the initial login was added to the App. Now working thanks.

I still have the issue whereby the firmware type mismatches. Any ideas on that please?

You can't upgrade directly to 5.6.15. You'll need to upgrade to 5.6.11 first. That said, 5.6.15 does not officially support the DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 so you might want to go to 5.6.14 instead (from 5.6.11)

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a go but my primary reason was due to Pushes not working. Since I've resolved that issue I may not bother. Do you know whether 5.6.11 or 5.6.14 has any major improvements?

I didn't use any of the earlier versions long enough to make a judgement. I think the main thing was fixing security holes.
