"SD Card Exception Error"?

I am looking for a storage solution for my Hikvision model DS-2SE7C144IW-AE(32X/4)(S5) that we use as a webcam for our boating club.

The camera manual says it takes up to 256GB SD Card. Each SD card I try it doesn't even register there is one. It just says "SD Card Exception Error" I tried a lower capacity 128GB card but same response.

These cards are straight out of the packet unused.

Any ideas? What am I doing wrong?

Hi @greenslade007

Do you only access this camera via the Hik-Connect app? Is there a PC on the same network as the camera where you can log into the camera with a browser?

Hi Dan yes I can get to the camera fine. Via phone app or web browser.

It just doesn't detect the insertion of an SD card.

Thanks @greenslade007

So you also can't see the MicroSD card in the camera's storage menu when accessed with a browser?

What firmware version is the camera currently running?

It's the latest available I've done a search.

I'm told that I should be just able to put the card in and it should prompt for formatting the card. Should I try a pre formatted sd card do you know?

It's a Sandisk high quality memory card. I have also tried Lenovo more basic versions of both 256GB and 128GB.

Thanks,

That does look to be the latest firmware.

Can you please confirm that you have tried formatting the MicroSD when logged into the camera with a browser? (please share a screenshot of what you see in the storage management menu when logged in with a browser)
