Reflection from number plate at night?

I was looking at a car last night and the number plate was reflecting to the point it was unreadable. Any ideas?

Plate reflection is something that can be an issue for all non-ANPR cameras, the setting that will likely have the biggest impact would be to enable HLC (High Light Compensation) which reduces the brightness/glare of strong light sources like headlights or reflective surfaces.

If you log in to the camera and go to Configuration > Image > Display Settings > Backlight Settings you should find the HLC setting there.
