Recently the Hik-Connect app stopped working after a power cut.

After several attempts to ’fix’ this I reset the DVR to factory defaults and tried a new install.

I noticed that the DVR Platform Access had “litedev.hik-connect.com” as a default address, when I pinged this address there was no response so I changed this to “dev.eu.hik-connect.com”. Still hik-connect would not add the DVR, I tried adding via “hik-connect.com” but DVR was not online. I have tried deleting the hik-connect app and redownloading but this did not solve the problem.

DCHP is enabled and DNS settings are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Any tips please ?

Hi @Systems

Our 7716 NVR in the office is linked to Hik-Connect using "litedev.hik-connect.com" so I don't think that is the problem.

I would recommend that as you have reset the NVR and reinstalled the app that you Unbind the NVR using SADP and then try adding it to your Hik-connect account again.

thanks for this, SADP tells me that the device is not bound, is this a clue ?

Ok, that means the device is not connected to any account which is strange because this means you shouldn't have any problem adding the device to Hik-Connect, I would take a look at the below post and double-check you are not making any of these mistakes that may be stopping the device connecting.

I have tried the suggestions on the list but still cannot link hik-connect to the NVR. I have taken the attached photos of the config settings to see if this helps. This follows a factory default restart, a scan of the LAN shows the NVR located at 192.168.1.132 but when I ping this address there is no reply.

Can you send a screenshot of your LAN settings? Open command prompt, type ipconfig and hit enter.

You shouldn't need to enable DHCP so long as the NVR is at a static and open address. It's strange your NVR settings list its IP as 169.254.86.20 while your LAN scan shows it up as 192.168.1.132.

Try enabling Obtain DNS Server as this can sometimes fix incorrect network settings!

The NVR LAN connection is via an unmanaged ethernet switch with 3 other devices which are all working ok. I connected the NVR directly to the router in the unlikely event that there was an internal switch issue and it is working perfectly once again !

Thank you for all your patience and advice :-)
