I have one of the latest Hikvision I series NVR's and was wondering if anyone know of a setting buried somewhere in the menu to dim or hopefully completely turn of the rather bright white LED's on the front facia of the recorder?

Our recorder lives in a under the stairs cupboard and the door frame glows at night as the thing pumps out so much lights.

Sorry, I'm not aware of any settings that do this.

It would be good to have a setting that enabled you to disable those LEDs.

Thanks for the reply.

Its a shame there isn't a setting as I have no idea what the lights represent, are used for or if you can even press them as buttons. I operate mine through the web interface and never touch the unit.

Is there a way of submitting a feature request to Hikvision that you know of?

OK, here goes - so called 'expert' sticks his head in the guillotine:
I don't actually think there is (have not yet found) any use for the front panel LEDs or pushbuttons!

I'll drop a quick message to HikVision Tech Support; see if they know of a purpose for the LEDs & buttons, and ask if we can feed back / raise a request for a check box to disable the LEDs.

HikVision have responded:

Dear Customer
Could i have the full model number and serial number of the device please?
;)

Am I ok posting this info here publically?

Model Number: DS-7716NI-I4/16P
Serial No: 677XXXXXX

Sorry, that was just my poor attempt at sarcasm.
It annoys me that they can't provide a simple answer to a simple question without trotting-out that canned response.

I'll try to get a proper answer.

Thanks for sharing your info.
I've edited you S/No. Post

Thanks for that.

Would be good if we could get this to be an option in future FW.
