i have Hikvision NVR DS-7608NI-E2 / 8P/A and have just upgraded the firmware to build NVR_K41_BL_ML_STD_V3.4.106_191009.zip and now i cant see my cameras.
i can check the cameras and see them all individually, but they keep searching to connect, then connect, then disconnect, one by one, over and over again.

I noticed that all were set to plug and play and all on channel 1, so i clicked on manual, changed the channel to match the port number (e.g channel one matches port one the camera is plugged into on the dvr, etc), then back to auto, and it still keeps doing the searching and nothing shows on live view. help! The cameras I have connected are:

HIKVISION - DS-2CD2143G0-I (2.8mm) - IR Fixed Dome Network Camera 4 MP

Are all your cameras wired to the rear of your NVR?

Yes all wires in to ports 1,2,3,5,6.
Lights are on all.
If I go to add IP cam and refresh I see them all appear one by one then disconnect one by one

Hi @dodefyvie

What do you mean by this - "i can check the cameras and see them all individually" - Do you mean you are able to log in to the cameras individually?

Do you have a separate PoE injector or switch (not the ports on the NVR) that you could plug one of the cameras into?

Can you share some screenshots of what you are seeing?

Hi all cameras were working fine until I did the firmware update.
If I leave the unit for around ten minutes the camera will cycle through cam 1 being on the monitor, then the camera will actually disconnect in the IP camera page, then cam 2 will come on and do the same, cycling through each camera. At no point will they all stay on at the same time.

So the cameras all work, and they do come up on the monitor but on the page that says "add IP cam" you have the list of cameras, with only one at a time saying connected, then it disconnects, says searching and the next cam comes online.

okay,

have you tried cycling the power of the NVR since you updated the firmware?

Try powering it down, leaving it turned off for about 30 seconds, and then turning it back on. Do you still see the cameras cycling between online & offline after powering it back up?

Hi, yes I've tried turning it on and off a couple of times.

Same problem persists.

I did have the unit connected to a switch and had the usual "no more IP cameras can be added", so tried directly plugged into he router without the switch and same problem too.

I even tried updating the firmware on the cameras themselves which failed.

okay,

When you say "I did have the unit connected to a switch" do you mean the NVR or the cameras?

Screenshots or photos of your direct monitor UI would be really helpful for us trying to diagnose what is going on with your system.

Hi @dodefyvie

I can't understand what is causing this, as far as I am aware we have never seen NVR behaviour like this before.

I think the only option will be to hard reset the NVR and try setting it up from scratch again with the same password as before (hopefully that way the NVR should still have the same password that was used to activate the cameras before).

If you still run into issues after resetting the NVR then you will have to hard reset the cameras as well.

I don't have an answer to your issue but just want to mention that the channel number refers to the camera and not the port on the nvr. In your case they should all be channel 1. The channels are used when multiple feeds are returned from one ip device, such as a panovu camera or an encoder. These devices would return multiple camera feeds to one channel on a single IP address and the channel number is used to identify each feed.
