Normal NVR vs "Blazer" NVRs

Can someone give me a run down on what makes the Blazer NVR's so superior to the normal Hik NVRs?

Specifically I am looking at ANPR functionality - does having a Blazer NVR allow any more functions than a normal (with up to date firmware so it has the licence plate option) NVR?

The Blazer NVRs use the 5200 software.
They were never popular.
The standard range of -I NVRs work perfectly well.
