Got everything setup on HIK-Connect app great - had to add encryption etc. in the advanced tab so everything works great on app.

Now i cannot view on browser as there is no 'local' tab.

Only way i can see this is if i'm running an old version of firefox that requires the webcomponents plugin.

All other browsers no longer seem to need it and will not show encrypted stream as a I cannot get to the local setting.

Also, without webcomponents i only get a choice of 1 or 4 camera liveview - with webcomponents i get everything.

Any suggestions appreciated.

ok, do you know the exact model you have? 7200 is just the series, is it a 4/8/16/32-channel DVR?

Do you know what firmware version your DVR is currently running? you can find it under Configuration > System > System Settings

ok, are you a Mac or PC user?

I am going to assume you are a Mac user as this will likely explain the problem. Any DVR/NVR running v4 firmware being accessed on a PC using Chrome should be able to see the Local menu, unfortunately, this is not the same for Chrome & Firefox on the Mac which for some reason still doesn't display the local menu.

If you are only able to access from a Mac your only option to gain full access to the DVR settings is to view it through iVMS-4200 for Mac

I would also recommend trying to access the DVR via Safari on a Mac as the release notes for one of the recent v4 firmwares suggest new compatibility with that browser.

No unfortunately i'm a windows user..

I will look at everything again, but tried edge/chrome/firefox and no local menu and grey liveview as unable to set encryted view.

Old version 15 firefox with webcomponents - can see local and can see liveview

ok, we don't work with DVRs so the situation with the v4 firmware may be slightly different for DVR model in that they don't support the full plugin-free solution, it may be that they have made the first step to introduce the plugin-free solution with the first v4 firmware and you may have to wait for a future update for them to fix bugs like the local menu issue.

If you need to access it immediately then your best options are to login using Internet Explorer or add the DVR to iVMS-4200.

Cheers Dan - thanks for your help - its clearly a quirk of the plugin free version - for now i can download an old firefox for the PC i want it on and then should be good.

Where you're running non plugin - does the liveview allow more than 1 and 4 ? webcomponents shows all, but on my non plugin only 1 or 4..

you're welcome, yes the plug-in free version running on the NVR allows you to chose between 1/4/9/16 live view layouts.
