Need Help with Low Bitrate on Hikvision Camera

Hi all,

I have a Hikvision DS-2CD2387G2-LSU-SL camera, but its bitrate is stuck between 141 kbps and 1.48 Mbps, even though I’ve set it to 16384 kbps in the settings.

Some details:

I use the Hik-Connect app on my phone (no NVR).

The camera is powered via a Hikvision DS-3E0505P-E PoE switch.

Other cameras on the same network (Reolink) work fine.

I’ve tried changing settings, but nothing helps.

Could the issue be related to the Hik-Connect app, the PoE switch, or something else? Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Hi... here's a similar camera set to 16384 Kbps on my system...

I don't think accessing the camera using Hik-Connect will use the full bitstream (it's using a transcoded stream?) ... looks like you have everything configured correctly... If you look at the live view of the camera when logged into it locally you will see the full stream. If you had an NVR, it would be recording the full stream.
