Need a better POE Camera! DVR: DS-7604NI-K1 Cam: Hikvision IPC-D140

My current camera quality seems bad, Current DVR is DS-7604NI-K1

And the current camera I have is Hikvision IPC-D140.

Ideally something PoE, so I don't need to change anything that's already set up.

the quality of my current cam doesn't seem good at all, it's hard to read number plates/see faces etc attached an image just think its time for an upgrade?

That image is not bad.
I'm guessing it is a 2.8mm lens.
You'll see details better with a narrower lens e.g. 4mm or 6mm

Just can't see detail like the reg of the car there, you can't read it. I like the view with the 2.8, but think a 4mm or 6 would lose a lot of the area around the house?

If you just want to read number plates in the daytime then upgrading to a 6 or 8MP camera will give you more detail in the wide FoV, but if reading plates at night is also important then you would have to look at a 4mm or 6mm option because the resolution will always be slightly reduced when using IR and you will need to enable HLC (High Light Compensation) to reduce the glare from the number plate. (do be aware though that using HLC will darken the whole scene)

If we were to recommend a model we would recommend the 2385G1 Darkfighter Turret camera
