I currently have the DS-2CD2142FWD-I Dome camera and the online help wording is not the same as the cameras menu wording. For example the online help says 'Slide the cursor to adjust the sensitivity and proportion of object on the area for the selected area' however, the online camera configuration menu says 'Sensitivity and Percentage'? What exactly is proportion of object? Does this mean that if the camera detects the motion of a moving object, it will only record if it sees a certain percentage of that object? In my opinion if the camera sees a change within a static image i.e. motion, it should record, otherwise you may have intruders and the camera will not record!
I currently have day and night set to 90% Sensitivity and Percentage set to 100%, I am experimenting with these settings as I do not want it recording all day when the image it is looking at is static with barely any motion unless a person or animal enters the cameras viewing area.
What do you set your motion settings to?
Steve.
