Hi
I currently have my Outdoor cameras set to motion detection. But ive noticed on two occassions now when reviewing some footage, it would stop recording midway through and I would miss part of an event.

Im thinking of setting my NVR to record continously instead.

Who here prefers either continous or motion? And any advice on what settings to tweak for motion so not to miss any details?

I have a Hikvision NVR and cameras
Thanks

We tend to recommend continuous recording, simply because it is so difficult to perfect your VMD setup for all possible conditions, and without continuous recording you run the risk of missing an event.

I use the motion detection to help me find events, but record continuously.

That's a great idea.
How do you find event's during playback?
All I can see is the continuous footage.
I've still got the motion detection enabled and the red grid drawn.

I use Event Search in iVMS-4200. Separate from the usual remote playback.
