Memory Card error

Hi,


I recently bought 2 new CCTVs from HikVision. I have a problem with both devices. After formatting my memory card I always get the error Status "Exception" for the memory card. This occurs on both cameras and also with two different memory cards. The memory cards are 32GB and the HikVIsion CCTV's are Model
DS-2CV2Q01FD-IW

I couldn't find any others post with this problem. Anyone knows what to do?

Hi,
I haven't seen this specific error before.
Please try formatting the card(s) via your PC first - any format.
Then retry the card in the camera and see if it will format.
I have known this to resolve card problems before.

Thx Phil. I will try it. Cant find any microSD adapter right now. Will give feedback as soon as I have one was able to check it.

Same result. I formatted the memory cards on my laptop. Formatted to fat32 and ntfs. Same result. I end up with the "exception" error. They are not fake cards with lesser space. I used them in Vstarcams before without any problems.

Are both cards from the same manufacturer?
Do you have any others you could test with?

It's an unusual camera model, in that it is sold in variants pre-fitted with memory cards of varying sizes - I've not come across that before.

Perhaps raise a query with your supplier.
Check whether there are specific requirements or brands of cards to be used?
Check that you have the latest firmware for the camera?
(if updates are available)
