Max Hard Disk Capacity

Please can someone advise if 4Tb is the maximum size HD that can be fitted in the NVR 7604NI-E1 model. The NVR only has 1 Sata HD port.
Firmware version is v3.4.6

Yes according to the specifications: DS-7604/7608/7616NI-E1(-E2) - Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co. Ltd. only up to 4TB.

Found this HDD document, and one 6Tb HDD is listed, but model of disk looks to have been replaced. Listed under model NVR type B

Hard to say, firmware does play a big role in extending the feature set. For example the 7616NI-K2 NVR only lists H264 on the box it sells with. On the latest firmware it supports H265+ recording. I'll call our distributors in the morning and ask, thumbs crossed.

Thank you for checking about the hard disk size. I have not found any further information other than there are several 6Tb drives listed in the hard disk compatible document. There is one Seagate and several WD, but WD require firmware v3.4.92

The limitation to 4TB that you have seen is simply due to the age of the product and 4TB being the largest size HDD that was available when the product and its literature was produced.

We don't seem to encounter any problems fitting newer/larger HDDs.
