Curious to know what others are using for recording settings on their IP8332's ... I'm tinkering quite a bit trying to get the best results and they have been alluding me, wondering if anyone has settings they'd like to share they are very happy with.

My setup today is as follows:

Stream 2 : JPEG / 1 fps / Excellent Quality @ 1280*800 for stills only on motion events sent directly to a NAS

Stream 3 : JPEG / 10 fps / Custom Quality of 45 @ 1280*800 event based recording sent to ST7501 server.

Image Setting : BRT= -2 / CONT= +1 / SAT= +1 / SHARP= +2

Sendor Setting : 1/30 sec / Exp 3 / Max Gain 2x / BLC On

For the most part my lighting is strong at night but no dedicated IR lighting so the cams are using internal IR which helps to wash out images (see below). All cams have been refocused as best as they could be and for the most part are ok. Would be nice to get the "secret sauce" that could make these work really well at night. These stills were from my Stream 2 with the settings as stated above. Basically they suck for such expensive cams!

Hi lombana, Thanks for your Post.
We are aware of some problems with achieving best setup for night-time performance with the Vivotek IP8332, we're in ongoing discussions with Vivotek and expect that they will release new firmware (beyond v0105) to address the issues soon.
I'll post here as soon as I'm made aware of the new firmware release for the Vivotek IP8332.

Thanks it's been a while since I checked the site, but riddle me this... is there anyone else that has IP8332's that suffer this much focal loss throughout the course of a day? See the images in this message, one is at 7am the next is at 1pm, no changes have been made to this camera! This is what it does all by itself during the day and this is not the only one, they all do this! I'm about to call tech support and have them replace all of my cams because this is totally absurd! BTW this cam is about 2 months old, it was actually a replacement for one that was doing the same thing!
