Hi All,

Wanting to try either Intrusion Detection or Line Crossing on my system to try & minimise the false triggers I get with normal motion detection.
Mostly Moths & Spiders.

Have followed all that I can find, even though the documentation doesn't quite match the firmware; but I just can't get it to detect.

Have drawn a region as well as a minimum size box & played with settings.
Get the impression I'm missing some other setting.

Hikvision NVR:-
Model# DS-7616NI-I2 / 16P
Serial# DS-7616NI-I2 / 16P1620161123CCRR679550102WCVU
Firmware V3.4.82 build 161008

Hikvision Cameras:-
Model# DS-2CD2142FWD-I (One of)
Model# DS-2CD2042WD-I (7 of)

Firmware V5.5.0 build 170725

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Phil.

An explanation here on why the HikVision documentation (user manual) doesn't always match the settings you see in your camera / firmware:
https://forum.use-ip.co.uk/threads/motion-settings-help-required.1474

The online help accessible from the camera's Configuration area should be correct for the camera / firmware (Help button at top-right):

Lots of helpful videos at HikVision Tech Support's YouTube channel - Hikvision Technical Support

Finally realised what I was missing, thanks to the Mega Tutorial on here.

What I wasn't doing was setting the Storage Schedule on the NVR to record Events instead of Motion.

All good now, but did glaze over the though of that area of configuration being relevant.
