Hello,
A friend of mine has purchased a Hikvision ANPR camera (iDS-TCM403-BI) and attached to his existing NVR (DS-7616NI-M2/16P v5.03.10 Build 240606). The ANPR is detected by the NVR and activated. However, the video image shows up blurred (see image attached). As cars drive past you can see the camera picks up the headlights/backlights but the video image is not clear (purplish tint and blurred). My knowledge on setting up ANPR cameras can be measured in milliseconds but I have setup his existing IP cameras and they pretty simple plug and play by default. I was expecting the same with the ANPR but did expect some configuration with respects to setup of number plate detection (I have found a youtube video on this, may be useful when I get to this stage).
My question(s)
1. Is this normal for a new factory default setting for this model of Hikvision ANPR camera (iDS-TCM403-BI)? If so, what do i need to do to get the image clear so I can then start configuring the ANPR number plate detection settings.
2. I have replaced the ethernet cable and also removed his 14 existing cameras from the NVR to rule them out, hasn't made a difference. I also tried the zoom in and out options from the NVR for the ANPR camera, no difference. Any other troubleshooting steps that i could try? I was tempted to factory reset the ANPR camera (iDS-TCM403-BI) and NOT attach to NVR but rather a PoE switch to see if the NVR was the issue but the outcome (either way) doesn't really assist my friend as he would need to buy another type of NVR (he recently purchased this one).
NB: The video image is the same when viewed through TV (HDMI attached) or Laptop (browsing to web interface of ANPR directly or NVR - using different browsers).
Kind Regards
G
