Hi,
Im setting up some cameras around my farm and trying to figure out how to add cameras not directly connected to the nVR?

I've got a 16 port hikvsion NVR and i've got some cameras connected to a POE switch in the barns, i've connected one of the POE ports on the NVR into another switch and this switch has an uplink to the other POE switch where the cameras are plugged in. I can't get the NVR to find the camera - if i plug in the POE switch directly into the NVR then it finds one camera on the POE port i've plugged the switch port into.

Hope i've described that ok? i've attached a very basic picture to illustrate.

Hi,
You should only use the NVR's camera ports to connect a single camera directly.

For your arrangement, your POE switch should be connected to your general network LAN under your router.
Your NVR will be able to find and add them even though they have LAN IP addresses.
You can use HikVision's SADP tool with the cameras and NVR on the LAN, to identify and set IP addresses etc.
To add the cameras that are on the LAN; in camera Management on the NVR switch from Plug 'n' Play to Manual adding and enter their IP address, password, etc.
