Hikvision Turbo 4 DVR GUI 4.0 firmware update

the firmware is confusing!!

i have a ds-7204huh which is on firmware v3.5.50
but looks like i can install v4.1.00

but does say this
For DS-7204HUHI-K1/P & DS-7208/16HUHI-K2/P, please don’t upgrade the firmware from V3.5.50 directly to the released version, otherwise they will be defaulted

so i dont mind it going back to default, or should i go to a different firmware first?
i did try the upgrade but it says its a miss match.

what firmware should i go to first?

Here is what Hikvision have said today:

• The Turbo 4 DVR GUI 4.0 firmware has been released. Please find further details in the release notes. Please click heredownload the Firmware.

PLEASE NOTE

• For DS-7204HUHI-K1/P & DS-7208/16HUHI-K2/P, please don’t upgrade the firmware from V3.5.50 directly to the released version, otherwise they will be defaulted. The released version is mainly for AcuSense DVR & GUI 4.0 interface. It’s not suggested to upgrade other models to this version with a purpose of troubleshooting.

It seems to say - you can update, but it will default your DVR.

Is your model definitely in the list of applicable products?
(when you include the full suffix)
