hi, just after abit of information really, ive set up my -
  1. HIKVISION DS-2CD2355FWD-I | 4MM
  2. S-2CD2T55FWD-I5/B | 4MM
all work perfect during the day and even at night but ive noticed i cant see any licence plates as it seems over exposed is there something im missing in the camera setting, ive tried speeding up the shutter speeds but seems to wash out the image completely.

any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Your images look good.
Number plates are retroreflective (light is reflected back in the direction it comes from), so inevitably the IR is strongly reflected back to the camera.
If your cameras have HLC (HighLight Compensation) then that will help, but adjusting it will be a compromise.
Check for the latest firmware for your cameras; they are both from the G1 Family, and therefore their latest firmware (V5.5.82) can be downloaded from here:
DOWNLOAD EU PORTAL

For the best results in reading plates night & day we always recommend Hikvision's dedicated number plate camera.

cheers phill, latest firmware has been installed on the cameras, it isn't a major problem not seeing the plates just wasn't sure if i had missed something obvious in the settings
