Hi,

Since this NVR has port at the back, does it mean i need to directly plug the IP camera there? some of my IP cameras have multiple switch hops via fiber.

If its the PoE Unit, the best is to put in in there. If you have no PoE, alles Cameras will be added over the network. Put the DVR in your network and and add them manually. Sometimes you need to activate the cameras first with the SADP Tool in your network. So you need to know the IP from the camera and set a password manually with SADP per camera. This NVR has a 1 GBit Port. Based on how much cameras you have, and which MP size, some cameras will bring not the full quality.
