Firmware Hikvision DS-7604NI-K1/4P NVR - updating 2017 firmware?

Hi all,

long time lurker, first time poster.

having just had the 1no POE Hikvision camera on the front of my home for the last 5 years and no means to record. i recently purchased an NVR off of ebay.

the NVR i got is - DS-7604NI-K1/4P its on firmware v3.4.98 build 171121 and i've tried updating to latest 2021 firmware and get "mismatch" error.

Admittedly i haven't tried older firmwares [to decrease the gap between updates in a bid to get it to newer firmware]. this is doing it via usb stick direct as the upgrade button on the web browser doesn't work on any browser - IE/Edge/Chrome.


Any suggestions on how to progress it?

Looking at the firmware version your NVR is currently running it looks like you have an old hardware version of the 7604 NVR and so it won't accept the 2021 firmware which is for newer generation 7604 NVRs.

The latest firmware version for your model will be V3.4.103_build 181226

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate its an older model NVR as I was aiming for similar age as the camera I’ve attached to it in an effort to avoid compatibility issues.

I will download the firmware you have suggested and report back.
