We are receiving so many HikVision cameras returned with various symptoms and problems claimed but actually No Fault Found when we test them that I thought it was worth a quick Post here.
Typical reports include that customers can no longer access the camera, or simply 'stopped working'.
A very common theme is that the cameras are not running the latest firmware when we receive them.
The typical run through that we do here is:
1. Connect the camera to a POE switch on our network.
2. Find it with SADP.
3. Gain access with a browser (reset to inactive using the camera's reset pushbutton OR request a password reset file if no button).
4. Update the camera to the latest firmware.
5. Test video and day/night switching.
6. Declare NFF (No Fault Found) and return to the customer.
Just dealt with a 2355 turret returned with IR claimed not working.
Was running firmware version V5.4.5.
Upgraded to V5.5.4.
NFF
Reset to inactive & returned to customer.
