Hello All. Thanks for all your help.!
We have an odd issue and have reached out to hikvision support for help on this but they can not assist. We have our first Hikvision unit (DS-7608NI-E2 / 8P). Our network is relatively simple with a SonicWall TZ500 firewall. We have other cameras (speco) on the network and are able to access all of those remotely via phones and external web browsers. We installed the Hikvision since we liked the fact that we do not need to open firewall ports and they would simply reach out to hik-connect and allow us to access the device across the network.
Basically, the problem we are having is that when we go to add the device to the hik-connect online portal we key in the serial number and click the + sign to add the unit. We enter the verification code and then it throws a "Server Exception" error. Through guidance from hikvision we verified DNS was pointing to 8.8.8.8 on the unit. We even tried other DNS servers as well. The unit shows the status as "online" to dev.us.hik-connect.com with hik-connect as the platform mode.
No matter what we do it still throws the "Server Exception" error. Now we verified the firewall and there is nothing blocking any outbound traffic on this network. It allows all traffic out. There are no exceptions in the firewall logs at all.
Hikvision says the issue is with our network but I really can not see anything that could be causing it since the unit does say it is online.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks very much for any help!
Dave
