H.264+ Questions

Using EasyIP 3.0 3/ 8MP cams with a Qnap NAS (TS-253a) running surveillance station.
h.264+ generally seems to work except with 8MP camera on higher/ highest quality although there's a notable delay in stream starting vs h.264.
The reduction in bandwidth/ disk use is exceptional on mainly static scenes, but may not be able to live with ghosting.

1) Is the ghosting usual for h.264+?

2) Is h.264+ known to work with Qnap? The TS-253a is Intel based with h.264 hardware acceleration which I think is same hardware as Viastor

2) You'd need to check with QNAP. Traditionally they have run the NAS & NVR sides of their business as two completely separate entities, with the NAS boxes having much more restricted IP camera capabilities:

How is you qnap working with the 8MP camera? I also have a TS-253A running 2 Hikevision (4 & 5MP) and want to add one more but 8MP. Right now, I’m running the 4MP encoding to H.264 at 12 fps and the 5 MP encoding to H.265 at same 12 fps. I was just wondering how is the qnap going to handle the 8MP camera at about the same frame rate.

I think the delay starting the stream could be the player waiting for a genuine I frame before commencing play. In H.264+ they suggest 8-12 seconds between I frames.
