DS-7608NI-K2 upgrade to firmware version 4?

Is there anyway to upgrade a DS-7608NI-K2 to NVR 4?

If not what is the minimum NVR that supports it?

There is but I'd advise against it. The I series NVR's support ver.4 of the GUI and have features beyond that of the K series.

Why would you advise against it? Is the hardware not powerful enough for the new software? What features does the I series bring above the K series?

I have updated much DVR to 4.0. Sometimes in encountered flash problems, and the dvr got bricket. And 4.0 has many bugs. On a 16 Port DVR i can only activate line cross detection on 2 cameras! (If i want set more, the recorder says i need more power space) Thats not good for 4.0, i hope they will fix it.

To the best of my knowledge, currently the V4 firmware / GUI is only suitable for the -I Series NVRs.
