Hello,

is there a way to test the e-mail settings you enter in the Network>Advanced Settings>Email page? On the camera page there is a test button, but not on the NVR. I am asking because for some reason I just set up the email setting but I never receive an e-mails.

p.s. I am not using gmail, rather my own mail server which works just fine since another network camera (not hikvision) with the same smtp etc setting works just fine.

Your firmare is very old, please update to newest 3.4.90.

On 3.4.90, there is a test button.
 
Hmm...this is irrelevant. The question is, has the NVR the newest firmare?
 
No.. I know I have to try and update but I want to make sure that I tried everything else before that because I read that with the latest firmware there are random reboots at many users and want to avoid that..
Also I have the same problem with the camera directly, I can not send a mail from there either.. Testing fails all the time..
 
When the same problem exists on the camera, why do you then think the NVR has a problem?

So again:
Has the cam the newest firmware?
 
I don't know.. That is why I am asking, maybe I am missing something.
The camera is DS-2CD2342WD-I with firmware V5.4.1 build 160525
Is this the latest?
 
Yes, 5.4.1 is the latest.

Maybe it would be useful to have a look at the ipcamtalk-forum, there are some solutions about email problems.
