DS-7604NI-E1 Firmware Upgrade

I would like to upgrade the firmware on an older DS-7604Ni-E1 NVR. The unit is still at it original supplied firmware version of V3.0.8 Build 140825
I read several post about recommending upgrading only 1 major version at a time, so upgrade would need to be done in several steps.

I have not been able to find any older versions of the firmware available, such as v3.1.x, V3.2.x. Are these older versions available.

Would you recommend upgrading this unit, and if yes to what version.

All the available firmware versions for that model are listed here - DOWNLOAD PORTAL

Hikvision at the beginning of 2018 updated their download portal and removed a lot of the very old firmware versions and so the versions you see listed via the link above are likely to be the oldest versions you will find.

We have heard some people report that updating through full firmware versions (e.g. 3.1.x to 3.4.x) can cause issues but we personally have updated a lot of NVRs that are 5-6 sub-versions to 1-2 full versions behind and we haven't seen any issues, if you are worried about it I would recommend updating to the oldest version available and then update to the newest version from there.

This is the oldest version of firmware I have found for the DS-7604NI-E1. I will try upgrading from V3.0.8 to this version.
