Hi all,

I am trying to configure this set up at my home and my build is a
Ds 7208-HUHI-2/P DVR
2x acuscense 4k cameras
Plus other various had temporary cameras

I have a technomate rf had ir modulator 4k so I can view on all tvs in the house through a loft aerial booster
2x hd tvs
2x 4k tvs
1x hallway 4k monitor
1x local hd monitor
2x up to 4k 2 way hdmi splitter

I can atm view on all tv’s and monitors 1080p with no issue.
But what I am trying to do is this-

From the hdmi port on DVR
Run a 4k hdmi cable to a 4k 2 way splitter, then a 4k hdmi to and view on the 4k monitor in hallway and a local 4k tv.
At the same time have a vga to hdmi cable from DVR to another splitter which connects to the technomate and local hd monitor.

As stated already this all works in 1080p, but can I set up different resolutions on vga (for my 1080p screens) and on the hdmi output have UHD 3840 resolution on my 4k screens, without replacing all my HD screens for 4k ones at an expense ?

Hope this makes sense

Hi @Leeuk

Do you have a monitor close to the NVR that you can use to access the DVR menus with a mouse? Can send a photo of the Configuration > General Menu?

Hi Dan thanks for your fast response, I have attached a couple of photos for you, let me know if you need more, so hope I’m explaining myself clearly, if I change resolution to 4k then I can only see video on my 4k monitor in hall and on my local 4k tv via hdmi cables, but the technomate via aerial booster and local monitor shows no video as they are only HD monitors and tv’s.
Hope there is a solution without changing all screens to 4k ones, or sticking with 1080p ?

Hi @Leeuk

Thanks for the photos, they confirm what I thought. We have little experience with analog DVRs but your model seems to operate the same as the older K-series NVRs in that they only have one resolution option for both the HDMI & VGA output, so there will be no way on your current DVR to have different resolution outputs for both HDMI & VGA.

We looked at a newer I-series NVR we have here and that does support separate resolution options for the HDMI & VGA output, but as I say we don't have any experience with DVRs so we wouldn't be able to recommend what the equivalent DVR model would be that supports this feature.

Dan,
Thanks for your reply, that makes sense maybe I should upgrade to an NVR and also upgrade the analogue cameras eventually to ip.
Also just found a 4k to Hd down scaler which could work as a fix for now.
Thanks again
Lee
