Hi,

Tried searching for this topic and didn't have much luck. I have a Hikvision NVR positioned in a remote room in my house, it's hard for me to run cables to it to set up a LAN connection and use iVMS to download. It's easy for me to swap out the hard drive when it's nearly full and download any content that I need by using an old Hikvision application called MVA. MVA is capable of detecting local disks that are plugged in and understanding the hikvision file system

MVA is very clunky and crashes frequently when doing this, it's an old application that seems to no longer be supported. Unfortunately it's the only way i'm currently aware of that is capable of reading a local disk and understanding the Hikvision file system that is currently used.

To my knowledge iVMS 4200/4500 is not capable of downloading/exporting from a local disk, is there perhaps anything else that can achieve what i'm trying to do?

Hi,

The only other way we are aware of if you have no LAN access to the NVR is to connect a direct monitor to the NVR and export the footage onto a USB hard drive or USB stick, it may also be possible to just use a standard HDD reader/docking station connected to your PC to access all the files on the drive, but these will be the raw files and it may be difficult to identify the specific files you want.
